Welcome to DA-Connection UK!

DA-Connection (DAC) is a non-profit, non-political organization with the sole aim of helping the children of Armenia.

The organisation’s goals are:
• To improve the everyday lives and the education system of the children in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh
• To promote knowledge and understanding of the Armenian culture throughout the world

DAC runs 3 week long Volunteer Programmes every summer in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh to achieve their goals.

Want to do something worthwhile this summer?

The 2009 Summer Campaign will run from the 10th to 31st August.

Volunteers will be divided into three groups, each working in a different village in either Armenia or Nagorno Karabakh.

Each group carries out one of DAC’s main activities:
- Children's Summer School
- Renovation work on a local school
- Medical Project

Participants choose which activity they would like to do, with weekends spent visiting Armenia or Nagorno Karabakh with the rest of the DAC volunteers from the other groups.

Requirements:
• Minimum age 18 years old
• Relevant experience with children is required for volunteers on the Children's Summer School project
• No experience is necessary for the Renovation project
• The Medical Project is open to doctors, nurses and medical students only
• For all projects, you must have the necessary social skills to be able to work and live in a group
• Knowledge of the Armenian language is NOT necessary
• You must be available for the entire three week duration of the project
• Deadline for all applications is 6th June 2009
